Part of the Terms of Service. Breaking these can cost you your account.
On the court
- Play honestly. Call the score and the lines honestly. Do not deliberately misreport a result, and do not enter a division you know you are too strong for. Sandbagging ruins a bracket for everyone in it.
- One account, one person. Do not play under someone else's name, enter on their behalf without their say-so, or hold more than one account.
- Respect the officials and the organizers. A Club's decision about its own event is the Club's to make.
- Do not show up impaired, and follow the venue's rules while you are there.
To each other
- No harassment. No threats, slurs, sexual harassment, stalking, or targeting someone over race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age or national origin.
- No doxxing. Do not publish another player's contact details, address or date of birth. The service shows what it shows for a reason; what it does not show is not yours to spread.
- Nothing sexual involving minors, ever, in any form. This is the one rule with no warning and no second chance, and it is reported to the authorities.
- Take particular care around junior players. Do not contact a player you know to be a minor outside the platform without a parent's involvement.
With the software
- Do not scrape, crawl or bulk-collect other players' information.
- Do not probe, load-test, or try to break the service. Responsible security research is welcome — write to security@paddlesup.io first, and we will not pursue you for testing within the bounds we agree.
- Do not resell, sublicense or white-label access.
- Do not upload malware, or content you do not have the rights to.
- Do not use another Club's event data to build a competing list.
What we do about it
Depending on what happened: a warning, removal of content, loss of a specific ability, suspension, or a closed account. Serious safety matters can skip straight to the end, and can be reported to law enforcement.
Clubs can remove a player from their own events for their own reasons. That is theirs, not ours.
Reporting
Write to safety@paddlesup.io. Tell us who, what, when and where. We will not share your name with the person reported unless you agree or the law requires it, and we do not tolerate retaliation against someone who reports in good faith.
Appeals
If we suspend or close your account, we will tell you why where it is not unreasonable to do so, and you can reply to that message to have it looked at again by someone who did not make the first decision.
